Public resolutions

Prior to 1941 (77th Congress), acts and joint resolutions were numbered separately but chronologically in the Statutes at Large, with acts using a "Public, No." designation and joint resolutions using a "Pub. Res., No" designation. Since 1941 both acts and joint resolutions have been designated as Public Laws without distinction, and the term public resolution has ceased to be used.
