Use the Restrict by Congress option to limit the your search to documents that were published during the years a particular Congress was in session.

The default restriction is for the "Any Congress", which means the system will return results regardless of which Congress was in session when the document was published.

To restrict your search to a specific Congress, select the Congress from the drop-down list. Congresses have sequential numbers starting with the 1st Congress, which met from 1789 through 1791. The years a particular Congress convened are shown in parentheses.
